What you will learn

This course focuses on using traditional metal type.

You will be given an introduction to letterpress printing and start by composing, setting and printing a few words on an Adana press to understand the process.

Throughout the day you can develop longer pieces of text,  printing them to create your own letterpress artwork.

Meet the Tutor

Andrew Wright

Andrew is a highly accomplished visual creative with a particular passion for serigraphy. Andrew hold a BA (Hons) in Graphic Arts and Design (Illustration) from Leeds Metropolitan University and an MA in Future Design from Teesside University, where he graduated with Distinction. Currently pursuing a Doctor of Design (D.Des) at Northumbria University in Newcastle upon Tyne, Andrew's academic and creative practice reflects a deep commitment to experimental image-making and print processes. He brings both expert knowledge and an inspiring, research-driven approach to creative exploration.
