About this print
Exhibited as part of 'Time Amongst Pictures, Bruno's Dream and Other Stories - Oliver Hoffmeister and Kevin Petrie' at Northern Print from 21 January - 7 March, 2026.
‘Time Amongst Pictures’ is a showcase of recent etchings made by Oliver Hoffmeister reflecting upon his artist residency at the Museo Del Prado in 2024 as part of the Richard Ford Award.
Utilising drypoint as a means of directly translating his marks, stripping away the etching process to it’s most basic and constraint, he aims to reinterpret some of the Prados collection, evolving images through memory and imagination.
Each work has developed from intense observation whilst on residency and transformed through the lens of Hoffmeister’s imagination into something very much of his own, yet reminiscent of the source material. -
