This print is in three layers on Somerset Satin White paper, and is one of a set of prints depicting 21st century Northumbria, inspired by hand-coloured photographs in the 1898 book Japan.
Byker is famous for its late 20th century Grade II* listed housing estate, designed by Ralph Erskine. Byker Community Centre is an older, less well-known building, and used for arts activities by people of all ages and levels of skills.
