Anja Percival has understandably gained many avid collectors of her evocative work. This etching was created in 2020 and forms part of a series of atmospheric etchings of interiors in addition to spaces around Anja's home town of Durham.

Artist Anja has a fascination of the different atmospheres that light creates in both our rural and urban environments. Her compositions aim to combine different moods of light, with contrasting space and surface qualities. She enjoys working with a variety of etching techniques, including aquatint, ‘soft’ ground, ‘white’ ground and burnishing, which result in subtle tonal differences within her imagery.
