What you will learn

During the course you will experiment with shape, texture and colour to create a set of unique 2-3 colour screen prints.

The process starts with sketching ideas for the prints then each colour layer will be drawn and cut into a paper stencil. 

A palette of co-ordinating and contrasting inks colours will be provided for to create your print colour palette from and you will be encouraged to experiment with overlaying shapes and colours to create more colour and depth to your print.

You will be shown a few different methods of using colour to create your prints using the paper stencil technique which you can try in your pieces.

Meet the Tutor

Gail Bryson

Gail Bryson is a textile designer, colourist and screenprinter. She specialises in simple and graphic prints that complement a wide range of home styles.

Trained at Edinburgh College of Art, she developed her design skills at The Conran Shop and The Nest before subsequently becoming co-founder and creative director of Bryson Loxley.

Gail is a firm believer that good design will always last the test of time. Her prints and products are designed to last both in design and manufacture, and are mainly all hand-printed and hand-sewn in London.
