Gum Arabic transfer printing is a very straight forward method of printing. It uses black and white photocopies as the printing plate and the repelling nature of oil and water to create the image areas. 

 This technique will give you beautiful soft images, rich in colour, they will pick up all the a gentle ‘noise’ from the cracks and creases in the paper. This session will take you through the process and allow plenty of time for practice with your own images or using ones provided. The basic gum Arabic process can be tricky to learn but once mastered it is a versatile form of printmaking that offers a wide range of possibilities for expression and more complex experimentation.
