This screenprint is one of Norman Mathieson's earlier works where his work was mainly concerned with exploring everyday scenes in a flat, abstract and colourful manner.
After developing his printmaking practice through a residency in Nagasawa, Japan, Norman's work became more structured compositionally and typically use subtle earthy tones depicting representational but thoughtful arrangements.
