What you will learn

Collagraph is a deceptively simple printing process that allows incredibly sophisticated images to be created.

This collagraph course focuses on using the cutting technique. An image is transferred to a compressed cardboard plate and each line and layer is cut away. The surface of the plate is peeled off. The ink sits in the edges of the cut lines and is caught on the texture of the surface of the card.

The resulting plate can be printed in intaglio, relief or both and can be combined with other techniques. As part of this course you will get the opportunity to experiment with different inking techniques as well as printing in both intaglio and relief.
