Anja Percival has understandably gained many avid collectors of her evocative work.  Here we see an alternative view of Durham, the view on the main road bridge over the river Wear made magical in the morning sunrise. This etching was created in 2014.

Anja has a fascination of the different atmospheres that light creates in both our rural and urban environments. Her compositions aim to combine different moods of light, with contrasting space and surface qualities. She enjoys working with a variety of etching techniques, including aquatint, ‘soft’ ground, ‘white’ ground and burnishing, which result in subtle tonal differences within her imagery.
