This course focuses on creating prints directly from plant materials. Ink is applied to the surface of the plant and the impression printed on paper using an etching press. This method of printing has traditionally been used as a way of recording and documenting plant species. It can also be used to make beautiful unique prints incorporating the shapes and textures of the plants themselves.
On the course you will be taken through the different approaches to the technique and make a series of prints using plant materials. Other techniques will be combined with the process including monoprinting, relief printing and specific inking methods.
