What can I buy?

Own Art loans are available in our gallery for the purchase of contemporary art and craft by living artists.  That means you can choose more or less anything you want from paintings, prints, drawings and sculpture, to glassware, ceramics, jewellery and textiles.

How much can I borrow?

Own Art loans allow you to borrow from as little as £100 up to a maximum of £2,500 for the purchase of works of art by living artists.

How do I apply?

After you've found something in our gallery or online that you love, speak with a member of staff who can talk you through your options on 0191 2617000. You are able to pay a deposit with Own Art to lower your monthly costs although this is not necessary and the loan can cover framing if you wish.  The best option is to visit the gallery if you would like to proceed with an Own Art application where a member of our team will take you through the loan application process.  You will need to bring proof of ID, address and signature - a driving licence is ideal or a utility bill and credit or debit card.  The application process usually takes 10-15 mins following which you'll get an instant decision so you can take the work home on the same day.
