Cathy Atkinson
"As a longstanding trustee of Northern Print it is a real privilege to work with such a professional arts organisation and dedicated team, supporting them through change, challenges and new opportunities to bring the joy of printmaking to wider audiences."
- Cathy Atkinson
Cathy has a lifelong interest in the visual arts, with a BA in Fine Art from Newcastle University, specialising in painting and photography. Her professional career spanned 35 years in advertising, creative marketing and digital marketing agencies where, as Client Services Director she led multi-discipline teams working with major clients in multiple sectors including the arts, heritage, leisure, financial services and higher education. With expertise in client service, user experience, budget and project management she applies an organised approach, empathy and attention to detail to her responsibilities on the Northern Print board.
Now semi-retired, Cathy advises Northern Print on brand, the website, the volunteer programme, strategy and development. She was also closely involved in the marketing of the first International Print Biennale in 2009. Although not a printmaker herself, her husband Dale is a professional artist, giving her a close understanding of current creative practice.
Cathy’s diverse interests now extend to fundraising for food poverty charity The Pickle Palace, lots of walking and cultural travel.
