We welcomed Mike Taylor, founder and director of Paupers Press, who offered a fascinating insight into the creative relationship between artist and printmaker.

Founded in London in 1986, Paupers Press has spent four decades at the heart of contemporary printmaking, collaborating with influential artists including Paula Rego, Craigie Aitchison, Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, Grayson Perry, Rachel Whiteread and Chris Ofili.

With expertise spanning etching, lithography, silkscreen and relief printing, the studio has played a distinctive role in translating artists’ ideas into print, while also supporting and promoting emerging artists.

Mike shared a behind-the-scenes look at the creative, technical and collaborative processes involved in bringing contemporary prints to life.
