Printer's Pie
1 Feb - 10 Mar 18
In days when typographic print such as newspapers were set using individual letterpress metal characters, 'printer's pie' was printmaking slang for jumbled and unsorted letters.
This diverse exhibition is comprised of several elements and features new work produced by Northern Print's studio members.
As the exhibition has no specific criteria as regards theme or technical process it is a great introduction to printmaking for those new to the form being that so many techniques are represented from woodcut to etchings, screenprints and monoprints.
Much of the new work is presented in frames measuring one square foot so it's an ideal opportunity to acquire brand new original artwork by emerging and existing artists to refresh your home in time for spring.

20:20 Print Exchange
Alongside our members' work we will be showing a selection of small unframed prints, each measuring 20cm by 20cm, which were created by artists from 40 different print studios, primarily from the UK.
The 20:20 Print Exchange has been managed by Hot Bed Press in Salford since its inception in 2009. This year over 500 artists have participated, each producing an edition of 25 prints and receiving an assorted box of 20 different works in return. The remaining prints are then allocated to the participating print studios - of which Northern Print is one - to sell for fundraising purposes.
All of these pieces are priced at £20 each and can be taken home on the day of purchase. With original prints available at that price it would be rude not to...
