Landscape Monoprints by Donald Wilkinson
10 April - 11 May 19
This exhibition features seascapes predominantly of the Solway coast from Donald Wilkinson's native Cumbria as well as of Scotland’s west coast. The majority of the works in this exhibition were made over a period of years, often revisiting familiar locations. Wilkinson prefers to work in autumn or winter when he finds the light more intriguing with shifts in weather and season lighting up or obscuring a particular view. He attempts to capture something of the experience of being in a place, returning to it repeatedly and trying to gain an understanding of the essence of a particular place.
