She took as her starting point an A3 book made in the 1950s by a local man, Frank Kojay, and held in the library’s local history collection. Handwritten as a sort of newspaper (it would now be recognised as a blog), the book is full of newspaper cuttings and ephemera based on observations of the Derwent Valley. I washed out the prints in the bathtub to 'fix' them before stacking to dry between teatowels and boards.
